"Blogging with North Stars" is space for members of Art Sanctuary's North Stars After-School program to post and share their creative works, such as poetry, dance and music with the online community

We invite all visitors and members to post comments and feedback to any or all of the work exhibited on this site.

About North Stars

North Stars After-School Arts Program is a unique, performance-based after-school program for teens, taught by nationally renowned artists and instructors.

In its seventh year, the North Stars program uses social history and African American culture as a basis of content for the expressive arts. It teaches students leadership and public speaking skills as well as the importance of advocacy, literacy and activism. Classes lead to an original multimedia theater production in May, which is not to be missed.

The North Stars program includes:
Poetry and Spoken Word
Music – singing and instrumental
Dance – hip-hop, modern, step, tap, and African
African Enrichment - West African Dance, Masquerade Drumming, Shekere, and Stilt Walking
Video – Documentary and editing
